SPSS Practice Dataset (zip format)
SPSS Practice Dataset: tutorialfile.sav
This file was created for use with the manual,
Making SPSS Accessible for Individuals with Disabilities. by Castaneda,
M. & Gugerty, J. (2006), University of Wisconsin-Madison, Center on
Education and Work. [available July, 2006]
This file contains the SPSS database created with the sample data
set included in Appendix B of this manual. It includes four variables
and 21 subjects. The variables and data have already been entered and
documented as discussed in Chapter 2 of the manual. When progressing through
this manual to learn SPSS, JAWS users may find it easier to use this pre-made
dataset if they experience difficulty navigating the SPSS data editor when
attempting to create their own data set (as discussed in Chapter 2).
The file is stored in a .zip archive. In WindowsXP or later, download the file
(click or right-click and choose Save Link As...), and then simply open it
using windows explorer (double-click the file on the desktop), and choose "Extract
All" from the left-hand menu. On older versions of Windows (or other operating systems)
make sure you have a program that can extract files from a .zip archive (Win-Zip and
7zip are two commonly used programs). Once the file (tutorialfile.sav) is extracted,
it may be opened using SPSS, as shown in Chapter 3 of the manual.
Please note that you need to have the SPSS program already installed in your
computer before you can access this SPSS Practice Dataset.
