CORD (Center for Occupation Research and Development)

This national nonprofit supports innovative change in education to prepare students for greater success in careers and higher education. CORD assists educators in secondary schools and colleges through new curricula, teaching strategies, professional development, and partnerships with community leaders, families, and employers. The group's Web site includes definitions, publications, networks, projects, and highlighted practices.

National Alliance of Business

The National Alliance of Business spearheads the corporate community's efforts to increase achievement at all levels of learning. To meet this goal, the Alliance, along with the business community it represents, partners with policymakers and educators to raise public awareness, inform policy, and stimulate action. The Web site includes summaries, resources, events, news, and publications.

High Schools that Work

High Schools That Work is one of the seven school-improvement initiatives of the Southern Regional Education Board. More than 1,100 HSTW sites use the organization's framework of goals and key practices to raise student achievement. The Web site includes publications, materials, outstanding practices, profiles of worksite learning, and technical assistance.

Con-nect

Connect is a fee-for-service organization that offers assistance for improving teaching and learning. Offerings include a comprehensive school improvement program, independent modules as well as onsite, online, and offsite support.
