The Online Books Page was founded, and is edited, by John Mark Ockerbloom, He is a digital library planner and researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. He is solely responsible for the content of the site. The site is hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Library, who provides the server, disk space, and network bandwidth for the site. They also employ the editor, and support him in his various digital library activities (of which this is but one). The online books listed on this page have been authored, placed online, and hosted, by a wide variety of individuals and groups throughout the world (and throughout history!).

CART.
URL: http://cart.rmcdenver.com/ The Compendium of Assessment and Research Tools (CART) is a database that provides information on instruments that measure attributes associated with youth development programs. CART includes descriptions of research instruments, tools, rubrics, and guides and is intended to assist those who have an interest in studying the effectiveness of service-learning, safe and drug-free schools and communities, and other school-based youth development activities. When you search the CART database, you can locate research tools that address an area of focus you are interested in studying. You will find a brief description of the instruments, the target population for the instrument, contact information for acquiring the instrument, other parameters that should guide its use. CART is not intended to be exhaustive of all instruments appropriate for studying youth development outcomes, nor is it intended to provide a judgment about which tool would be best for a specific study. Support for assembling this compendium of research instruments was supported by The Star Center and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Learning In Deed Initiative.

402 Citations Questioning the Indiscriminate Use of Null Hypothesis Significance Tests
in Observational Studies.
Compiled by Bill Thompson: thompson@uark.edu (updated 2/26/01) URL: http://biology.uark.edu/Coop/thompson5.html "In 1997, I compiled a list of articles, books, and book chapters that questioned the widespread use of null hypothesis significance tests (a.k.a. null hypothesis tests, significance tests) in scientific research. My goal was to provide those unfamiliar with this debate with a list of citations that pointed out the myriad of problems associated with the indiscriminate use of null hypothesis tests. For parity, I also compiled a list of references that supported, at least to a limited extent, the use of null hypothesis tests."
